FINANCIAL ADVISOR MAG: YOUNG ADVISOR TO WATCH
HER STORY:
Natalie remembers the first time she came home with money she earned.
She was a waitress (at Twigs, in Rochester, Minnesota). The feeling of holding cash tips in a white envelope – she’ll never forget it. It was the entry point to whatever she needed – new jeans, for example.
She watched her mom and sister work hard, and wondered if there was a way to be hard-working, but not have to work quite as much, so she could have time for a richer life.
Enter: financial planning. She started with a rare opportunity – an all-women team at a successful financial firm. She was inspired, to say the least.
After getting her CFP®, she rose up, and then got married (to a great guy, see below), and took a new job in Portland, OR – a big change. Suddenly she found herself in a more typical setting – an old school, sexist, male-dominated financial firm.

She and Dan soon realized: if they had their own firm, they could do better for families.
EQUAL VOICES is the firm they dreamt of, and they get to serve amazing couples from all over the US, all while having time to raise their daughter and enjoy quiet Sundays, in the park.
(They can help you have that, too, if you want)

HIS STORY:
Dan could tell you all about his bona fides:
starting out at **big firm name redacted** (didn’t love it, kinda toxic), watching clients be treated like numbers. He worked as a wealth strategy associate, where he got a real training in investing + planning for high net worth families.
He got a CFP®, went to a smaller firm, and finally got to see that financial planning was a way to serve people. And he liked that much better.
Dan could also tell you about the time his grandfather gave him and the other grandchildren $1000, and the way it felt to have money with no idea what to do with it.
Or watching his self-employed dad work long days and endless nights so Dan could have an education. Or the sheer fascination at the 2008 crisis – the first time Dan really wanted to understand the world and how finance plays a big part.If you work with Dan, you get this person, who co-founded EQUAL VOICES with his wife Natalie, who loves to run, and is now a dad himself.

Associate Financial Planner
Where do you find thoughtful planners with an interest in how people think + act? Southern California, apparently, where Jessie lives (also born + raised). Her journey to financial planning started in accounting, before realizing that being able to help + educate people like her own family was what really drove her. She passed her CFP® in 2024 and has been a vital part of EQUAL VOICES since 2022. Jessie’s your go-to for project plans, behind the scenes magic, and helping keep everyone accountable. Ask her about her adorable sweet angelic Lab-Pit mix, Willow, if you want to hear about true love.

chief compliance officer
Compliance goes way back, for Kingston. Specifically, to his time serving proudly in the Air Force. As the parachute inspector, compliance was quite literally a life-saving requirement (the mantra was “inspect / repair / repack”). Following his service, he was a Securities Examiner before eventually starting his own company, Just Compliance. He’s served over a thousand RIA firms (and counting) with thoughtful and careful compliance support. A Minnesota-dweller, Kingston is an active member of his church + community, and a super-proud dad of 4.
